Setting Up Belle II (Basf2) Kernel¶
Temporary Workaround
We're working to make Basf2 available by default. This is a temporary setup process.
1. Create Kernel Directory¶
2. Create Kernel Configuration¶
Create a file kernel.json in the directory above:
{
"display_name": "Belle2 (light-2503-ceres)",
"language": "python",
"argv": [
"/cvmfs/belle.cern.ch/tools/b2execute",
"-x",
"python3",
"light-2503-ceres",
"-m",
"ipykernel_launcher",
"-f",
"{connection_file}"
]
}
3. Verify Installation¶
After setup, the kernel Belle2 (light-2503-ceres) will appear in the kernel selection dropdown at jupyter.sdcc.bnl.gov.
Storage Access¶
From Jupyter notebooks, you can access:
- Home directory: Default working location
- Scratch space:
/gpfs/mnt/atlasgpfs01/belle2/users/USERNAME
But you can NOT access:
- dCache storage:
/pnfs/sdcc.bnl.gov/users/USERNAME
It requires special handling to access dCache files (in preparation).
